ArtReach Reads!

Welcome to our community-wide reading project!  This semester ArtReach homeschool students, staff and parents, will join together in reading The Giver by Lois Lowry. The Giver is a utopian or some might say dystopian novel about a boy named Jonas who lives in a futuristic society that has tried to relieve its citizens of choices to ensure sameness, fairness, and equality.  But at what cost?

The Giver is easily available at local libraries and through CWMars as a book, ebook or kindle or reserve your copy to pick up at ArtReach by contacting us at

The Giver is generally assigned to students 5th grade and up.  Please review to see if it is appropriate for your family

Our first virtual discussion of chapters 1-5  will be held on Zoom February 17th at 11:00AM

Light It Up!

January 28 11:00-12:30

In this live virtual workshop, students will explore cut paper techniques to make multilayer, cut paper light-up shadow boxes.  After designing and creating our patterns, we'll thoughtfully cut out our work, layer it in shadow boxes and light it up.  Shadow boxes make a great nightlight or dimensional wall hanging.  This project is accessible for multiple ages and experience levels.

In support of our mission to provide access to art for all this class is free!

Students will need, a small box, paper, scissors a piece of corrugated cardboard, a glue stick and a tea light or fairy lights. If for any reason students need support in getting supplies, please get in touch here:
